S.W.A.T. Operator School

Our Basic SWAT Operator School is for entry-level SWAT candidates and patrol officers selected for tactical team development. This 5-day course includes spans various learning environments including the classroom, range, and supervised force-on-force evolutions. All of our courses are taught by AZPOST and NTOA-certified SWAT instructors, supported by experienced Special Operations personnel.

 

Prerequisites: All registrants must provide their agency firearms qualification, meet baseline fitness requirements. Command approval and range/simunition authorization is required before enrollment.

 

School focus areas:

  • Firearms safety and flat-range marksmanship instruction with certified range oversight.
  • CQB concepts, individual roles, and team coordination (classroom, sand-table, and dry rehearsals).
  • Low-light / limited-visibility training (conceptual and supervised evolutions designed to build familiarity and team coordination under reduced illumination).
  • Team integration and force-on-force familiarization using training systems/simulations.
  • Physical conditioning and stress-inoculation drills to build resilience and decision-making under fatigue.
  • Final supervised full-mission profile scenario.

 

School Objectives/Outcomes:

  • Demonstrated understanding of weapons safety, range protocols, and use-of-force/legal fundamentals.
  • Developed foundation of close quarter battle concepts for complex decision making under stress.
  • Improved marksmanship fundamentals and documented live-fire performance under instructor evaluation.
  • Clear understanding of individual SWAT roles, team communication, and rehearsed responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience participating in supervised force-on-force scenarios and a simulated mission profile with structured AAR feedback.
  • Familiarity with low-light operational considerations and team coordination in reduced-visibility conditions (non-procedural exposure and supervised training).
  • Completion of written and practical evaluations and recorded fitness baseline for future progression.
