Officer 998 Readiness is a law-enforcement–focused training course designed to strengthen an officer’s ability to respond effectively, professionally, and safely to an officer-involved shooting incident.

The course emphasizes controlled, disciplined reactions during high-stress responses, with a strong focus on tactics, coordination, and sound decision-making consistent with agency policy and duty-of-care standards.

Training is conducted in a structured, safety-driven environment that prioritizes judgment, communication, and threat management while exposing officers to realistic response conditions they may encounter in the field.

The course incorporates vehicle-based response considerations, individual and team movement, and low-light conditions, allowing officers to practice techniques that support survivability, accountability, and operational effectiveness.

Officer 998 Readiness is designed to complement existing departmental training programs and provide officers with practical tools that can be immediately applied during critical incidents.

Training objectives:
• Develop effective response protocols following an officer-involved shooting
• Improve vehicle-based tactics and positioning during critical incidents
• Demonstrate and understand terminal ballistic behavior through vehicle glass and structural barriers
• Reinforce safe and deliberate movement during individual and two-officer close-quarters operations
• Enhance communication and coordination during buddy-team responses
• Build confidence and proficiency during low-light engagement conditions
• Practice controlled approaches to high-risk apprehension scenarios
• Strengthen decision-making, threat assessment, and accountability under stress
• Emphasize officer safety, bystander safety, and policy-aligned tactical responses
